Hartsy was awesome and one of the reasons I love the Flyers so much. I hope he enjoys his new baby and comes back to the team in some capacity.

Not that I’m looking past this season but Lehtera, Weal, Raffl, Laughton and Folin are in contract seasons. Simmonds too. We already know the Flyers do not want Weise. The Flyers have a real opportunity to drop players off the books in one year and create a great and affordable bottom six. It’s an exciting time to be a Flyer.

Good luck in whatever comes next Hartsy, we'll always love ya in Philly!!

In other news, I'm anxiously awaiting seeing the final Flyers roster that doesn't include Dale Weise.

Here is how I think Weise's first chat with Coach Gordon will go:

Weise: Hi coach, you wanted to see me?

Gordon: Have a seat Dale, um, you didn't bring the missus with you?

Weise: Um no, why would I?

Gordon: Oh, no reason. Anyway, I'm glad to welcome you both to Lehigh Valley. The boys have all volunteered to show your wife around the town and help her get settled in, they really are a swell bunch of guys. I think she'll be very happy here in our little town.

Weise: Um that's nice, I guess, but what about me?

Gordon: Oh yeah of course, sorry about that. Well, while it's not up to NHL standards, you'll find that we have a very nice press box in Lehigh Valley. Of course, you will need to make and fetch your own popcorn and drinks, but the seats are pretty comfy and they even swivel.

Weise: um yeah, ok, so, uh, what line will I be playing on?

Gordon: Um, did I mention that the seats in the Press Box swivel? Oh look, here comes Riley Cote. Riley, Hextall called me a earlier today and asked if you would take Dale on a tour of the facility. You can start by leading down this very dark hallway. Oh, and Riley, bring your stick. Have a nice day Dale, and once again, we are thrilled to welcome your wife to Lehigh valley.

Laughton and Raffl would be the only two I'd bring back. It's going to be another fun year to watch the Phantoms too

If the kids continue to develop well, I don't think I'd bring back any of them save for Laughton and perhaps Simmonds if they can work out a deal that both sides are happy with. I can see next years lines being something like:

G-Coots-TK
Linblom-Patrick-Voracek
JVR-Vorobyev-Simmonds or Allison
Laughton-Rubtsov-Aube-Kubel

I think Raffl's a valuable bottom-6 forward, as long as he's willing to be paid like one.

I don't disagree but unless he's willing to sign a one year deal for 19-20, I'd pass. I just think that they are very close to having younger, faster, cheaper and better options.

This assumes that he actually gets healthy and stays healthy long enough to actually play a game?

I don't know, if nothing else, he'd be a great 13F. Again, all depends on price.

Yeah, that is my thinking. He would probably end up somewhere else if he wants to maximize his contract, but if he wants to stick around and is willing to take a less favorable deal I'm all for it. I'd even give him higher salary for a 1 year deal

I just looked back and the Islanders gave up 15th overall (Brannstrom) and a 2019 2nd rounder to get rid of Grabhovski and protect Josh Bailey or Ryan Strome (later dealt for Eberle). I'm sure that would've gone differently had they known Tavares was out.

(how cool would it have been if they traded Tavares to Vegas?)

Sending Weise to the minors is the right move but I really dont see the point in writing sadistic and disrespectful stories about him. If he figures it out and comes back as the player we hoped they were signing I will he happy to root for him as a Flyer.

PR event of the year, Hartsy skates one night as Gritty! The big reveal comes at end of second period with a big lead up. He falls a lot. Fans go bananas!

I guess you missed all the games in which he played and showed no effort whatsoever? (frank) him. I will give any player who actually tries all the support that I can give. But that piece of sh!t has the talent to be a solid bottom 6 player, but he rarely, if ever, bothers to try. He deserves all the disrespect he gets!

Again, (frank) him.

It's because the dude never seemed to give any effort. If you suck, whatever, you suck. But he disrespected the team and fans by not giving them an honest effort.

Also, it's a joke.

I never saw a lack of efforr from Weise. More so a lack of results. Im equally frustrated with Jordan Weal who has been given even more opportunity and underwelmed.

I get its a joke but talking about a man's wife like that is offside in my opinion. That being said, offside is sort of the norm around here.

I could see a scenario where Laczynski, Allison and Farabee all turn pro next year if they have big college seasons. And all play a pro type of game already and I could see Laczynski and possibly Allison in bottom 6 roles.
